Thesp cast in 'Charlotte's Web'

Robert Redford has joined the voice cast for Kerner Entertainment’s “Charlotte’s Web,” the live-action/CGI co-production for Paramount, Walden Media and Nick Movies.

Redford will voice Ike, the arachnophobic horse who panics and faints at the mere sight of Charlotte.

The feature, adapted by Susannah Grant and Karey Kirkpatrick from E.B. White’s story and directed by Gary Winick, is currently in production in Melbourne. Dakota Fanning stars.

Julia Roberts, Oprah Winfrey, John Cleese, Steve Buscemi, Cedric the Entertainer, Reba McEntire, Kathy Bates, Thomas Haden Church and Andre Benjamin also provide voices.

Jordan Kerner is producing; exec producers are Edgar Bronfman, Kerner production topper Paul Neesan, Nick Movies’ Julia Pistor and Bernie Williams. Walden exec VP Alex Schwartz and Par production prexy Karen Rosenfelt oversee the project.
