MIAMI — Planeta Networks, a provider of broadband content targeting U.S. Hispanics, has launched PlanetaTV 3.0, the newest version of portal PlanetaTV.com.
The updated version includes a programmable streaming video player that allows users to create video playlists, share their videos via email and browse and search a library of over 3,000 videos available on demand.
PlanetaTV.com also synchronizes the delivery of broadband video ads with other ads embedded in the video player, the company said.
Coral Gables, Fla.-based PlanetaTV carries videos from Latin artists plus interviews, behind-the-scenes coverage and news about the music, movie and television industries in the U.S. and Latin America, all in Spanish.
PlanetaTV has distribution deals with Comcast, Road Runner and Cablevision Systems.
Its content suppliers include the Associated Press, Mexican pay TV company MVS, Telefe and Clarin of Argentina and Ecuador’s Ecuavisa. Planeta Networks said it currently operates over 30 broadband portals in 10 countries.
