Fluid, ‘Idol’ goes online

Los Angeles internet company Fluid Audio Networks has teamed up with “American Idol” co-producer and licensor Freemantle Media to bring “Idol” to the Internet, with idolundergound.com, to bow in late 2005.

Musicians will upload music directly to Web site in one of 13 genre-specific channels — including pop, rock, country, classical, jazz and rap — to be judged by celebrity and internet listeners.
