Bacon's on Mouse menu

Disney has tapped Bob Bacon to fill newly created post of executive VP of Walt Disney Feature Animation.

Bacon will report to WDFA prexy David Stainton and oversee production, technology and finance. Tech responsibilities include software development, systems, media and technical support. Additionally, he is charged with overseeing all finance, planning and accounting functions related to Disney’s animated fare and the finance functions of DisneyToon Studios.

Bacon most recently served as senior VP of production overseeing production and technology as Disney converted from 2-D to 3-D animation. Before entering into animation production, Bacon was VP of finance for Feature Animation. He joined Disney in 1991 as a financial analyst working on such projects as “Beauty and the Beast.”

“Bob is both a dynamic leader as well as a big picture strategist. These qualities combined are essential as we continue to pioneer technological advancements that will make our films stand out in the marketplace,” Stainton said in a statement.
