World Brief

British paybox BSkyB will today launch a 19-channel TV package for mobile phone users in the U.K.

The service, available to Vodaphone’s 250,000 3G customers, includes CNN, Discovery, live coverage of the English cricket team’s tour of Pakistan, a streamed version of Sky News and special made-for-mobile programs such as MTV Snax.

The package will be free until Janu-ary, when a minimum monthly charge of £5 ($8.80) kicks in.

“With Sky mobile TV, you can now keep up with the latest news, sport and entertainment wherever you are,” said BSkyB chief operating officer Richard Freudenstein.
