MTV Europe ups Guild to CEO

MTVNE's 4 regional business heads now report to exec

LONDON — MTV Networks Europe has upped deputy chief exec Simon Guild to CEO.

Guild, who joined MTV in 1993, will be responsible for the day-to-day management of 47 TV channels and 41 Web sites.

He will continue to report to Brent Hansen, who holds the dual role of prexy, MTV Networks Europe, and prexy of creative, MTV Networks Intl.

“Simon’s leadership will be vital as we continue to expand our portfolio of brands, build on Nickelodeon’s growth and develop an even more compelling digital media business,” said Hansen.

MTVNE’s four regional business heads will now report to London-based Guild, including Michiel Bakker (MTVN U.K., Ireland and Nordic), Catherine Muehlemann (MTVN Central and emerging markets), Antonio Campo Dall’Orto (MTVN South) and Dan Ligtvoet (MTVN Benelux).

Katrina Southon (Nickelodeon Europe) and Tony Orsten (Comedy Networks Europe) will report to Guild.
