Twentieth Century Fox and Loews Theaters are working with digital content distributor WideRay to offer moviegoers the ability to download movie trailers, ringtones and wallpapers to their mobile phones from theater lobby download stations.
Deal is a first in allowing digital movie promotion content to be distributed wirelessly using Bluetooth technology. The waters are being tested in three prime theater locations in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York.
Movies being promoted include “Kingdom of Heaven,” “Fantastic Four” and “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.”
Ringtones available include voice clips such as “Still alive baby?” (from “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”) and “Protect the stones!” (from “Kingdom of Heaven”).
