Universal will release new special editions of three of its notable library titles — “To Kill a Mockingbird,” “The Sting” and “The Deer Hunter” — Sept. 6 to launch its Legacy Series line of DVDs.
Each two-disc limited edition will feature a digitally remastered version of the film with fully restored audio in new, enhanced 5.1 tracks.
Bonus features on “Mockingbird,” nominated for eight Oscars and winner of three, include a documentary about star Gregory Peck produced by his daughter, Cecilia, and an interview with co-star Mary Badham (Scout) about her experience working with Peck.
DVD set for “The Sting,” winner of seven Oscars, including best picture, will include a making-of docu featuring interviews with cast and crew.
DVD set for “The Deer Hunter,” which won five Oscars including best pic, will feature deleted scenes and audio commentary by cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond and film journalist Bob Fisher.
