HOLLYWOOD — Getting an early start on its publicity blitz for holiday pic “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” Disney will preem the trailer day-and-date on TV in the U.S. and some 32 countries worldwide, as well as on Verizon cell phones in the U.S.
The publicity “roadblock” marks the first time the Mouse House has unveiled a trailer simultaneously in international, domestic and mobile markets.
The promo bows Saturday during the network-TV preem of “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” on Disney-owned ABC, with simultaneous airings on Disney Channel and four Starz! channels.
Within 48 hours, it will air on TV in markets including the U.K., France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and all of Latin America, dubbed in a total of 11 languages.
Two-minute trailer will also be available to Verizon V Cast wireless multimedia service subscribers in the U.S.
Same trailer will unspool in theaters with “Star Wars: Episode III — The Revenge of the Sith” on May 19.
“Narnia,” from Disney and Walden Media, opens Dec. 9.
