Geneon takes hold of Japanese titles

Long Beach, Calif.-based DVD distrib Geneon Entertainment has acquired a series of Japanese anime and live-action properties.

Among the Japanese titles heading to DVD this year are “Hellsing Ultimate OVA Series,” from animation house Satelight; “Shibuya Kaidan,” a live-action horror film from Geneon Japan helmed by Kei Horie; and “Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo,” a sci-fi adaptation of the classic Alexandre Dumas tale from director Mahiro Maeda and licensed from Studio Gonzo.
