Martin Scorsese’s feature-length documentary “No Direction Home: Bob Dylan” will be released on DVD a week before it is broadcast on PBS and the BBC in late September.
Paramount Home Entertainment will release the DVD, which will include extensive bonus features, on Sept. 20.
Doc, from Spitfire Pictures and Grey Water Park Prods., will air on PBS’ “American Masters” series Sept. 26-27 and on BBC’s “Arena” series Sept. 26 and Oct. 1.
Focusing on the singer-songwriter’s life and music from 1961-66, docu will include previously unreleased footage from Dylan’s concerts, studio recording sessions and interviews.
The DVD will include additional never-before-seen footage. Sony Legacy will release the soundtrack Aug. 30.
“I had been a great fan for many years when I had the privilege to film Bob Dylan for ‘The Last Waltz,’ ” Scorsese said. “For me, there is no other musical artist who weaves his influences so densely to create something so personal and unique.”
