Sirius takes all 64 games

Satellite radio co. brings on March Madness

If you’re into March Madness, Sirius satellite radio will drive you insane.

Sirius plans to be the first radio broadcaster to feed all 64 games of the 2005 NCAA Men’s Divison One Basketball Tournament to its one-million subscribers, starting March 17.

On March 17 alone, Sirius will broadcast coverage of 16 games between 12:10 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., many of them overlapping, which will keep listeners’ thumbs busy switching between the contests.

Sirius’ bigger competitor, XM Radio, which reaches 3.2-million subscribers, has carried games from the men’s basketball tournament of the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Big 10 and the Pac-10.

Both Sirius and XM cost the subscriber $12.95 a month.
