Company growing strong in music, games
RealNetworks saw overall revenues jump in the third quarter, the company announced Thursday, with especially strong growth in music and games.
For the quarter ended Sept. 30, overall revs were up 20% year on year to $82.2 million. Music revenues were up 39%, to $25 million, while games revenues jumped from $9.1 million to $14.7 million, a 62% increase.
Net earnings swung from a $7 million loss a year ago to a $11.2 million profit this year.
Results do not reflect the $460 million cash Real received in settling its antitrust case against Microsoft, which happened after the third quarter closed.
