HOLLYWOOD — Public relations execs Steve Rubin and Michael Saltzman have launched PR Planet as a full-service entertainment publicity firm.
Based in Beverly Hills, the firm will offer national campaigns, writing and media liaison services and electronic press kit, DVD and Web site creation.
“Michael and I want to offer a one-stop, soup-to-nuts publicity package,” said Rubin, author of “Reel Exposure: How to Publicize and Promote Today’s Motion Pictures.”
“Motion picture and television and entertainment publicity is all about continuity, and we think having one company following a project from pre-production through DVD release is the best possible strategy,” he added.
Saltzman will continue to run Saltzman Communications, handling business, corporations, technology and entertainment companies. Current clients include the 60th anniversary of Slinky, the Assn. of Independent Commercial Producers, ad agency G&M Plumbing, Mondo Media’s Happy Tree Friends, H2V Entertainment, Porchlight Entertainment and PBS series “The Zula Patrol.”
Rubin has worked for 11 years as a production publicity specialist at Showtime, with more than 100 unit publicity assignments. DVD producer credits include “Guess Who,” “Combat!” and the upcoming Ray Romano/Kevin James comedy “Grilled.”
