Re-elects include Bernstein, Crichton and Schulberg
HOLLYWOOD — The Writers Guild of America East has announced its election rerun results for six open freelance seats and four open staff seats, marking the second time it has rerun the election.
Re-elected to two-year terms as “freelance” members on the council were Walter Bernstein, Judy Crichton and Budd Schulberg; newly elected to two-year terms as “freelance” members were Chris Albers, Michael Weller and Michael Winship.
Re-elected to two-year terms as “staff” members of the council were Burl Britt and Andy Meppen; newly elected to two-year terms as “staff” members were Peter Bianco and Marianne Pryor.
Citing a computer error, the WGA East announced last month another rerun of its election. It first delayed the election last September when it was discovered that it had mishandled 16 ballots, then asked the 16 members to vote again.
It then announced in October that Bernstein, Crichton, Schulberg, Albers, Weller, Britt, Meppen, Bianco and Pryor had won along with Richard Wesley. In the latest results, Winship won rather than Wesley.
