Weitzman at Fields’ firm

Litigator joins Greenberg Glusker

Two of the country’s best-known entertainment litigators have combined forces as Howard Weitzman joins the Hollywood law firm of Greenberg Glusker, home of Bert Fields.

Weitzman, who rose to fame with his successful defense of auto entrepreneur John DeLorean on drug trafficking charges, has since represented celebrity clients including Hugh Grant, Kim Basinger and Courtney Love. He also served as an exec VP at Universal Studios during the mid-’90s.

Weitzman moves to Greenberg Glusker from Proskauer Rose.

Fields is most recognized for various high-profile cases against the Walt Disney Co.; he won a $250 million settlement for Jeffrey Katzenberg in 1999.

“Howard is an outstanding trial lawyer. We have litigated on the same side and against each other for years, and he has always been a splendid advocate for his clients,” said Fields.
