Hour-long skein follows doctors, patients in ER
BUENOS AIRES — Argentina’s reality powerhouse Cuatro Cabezas is producing “E-24” for Spanish broadcaster Telecinco, its first overseas sale of the docu-reality program.
The hour-long program, which follows doctors and patients in an emergency ward with more than a dozen fixed and portable cameras, is due to air in late-May or early-June.
“E-24” aired to strong ratings in 2003, prompting broadcaster Artear-Canal 13, a unit of local media conglom Clarin, to sign it up for a second season.
Rights to the show have been optioned for Italy by Italian prodco Magnolia, while Dutch production outfit Endemol has optioned it to air on French pubcaster France 2. Cuatro Cabezas is preparing to produce the format for Chile later this year.
