NFL playoffs dominate for Fox

Morning Ratings Flash - Rick Kissell

Fox has rolled to one of the most commanding Sunday primetime victories of the season behind its Carolina-Philadelphia NFL conference championship game, according to preliminary nationals from Nielsen.

Although numbers are a bit unreliable due to timezone adjustments in the fast-nationals, Fox figures to top a 15 rating in adults 18-49 and draw more than 36 million viewers overall for the pro football contest, which began slightly before primetime in the East.

CBS was a distant runner-up, getting good mileage out of repeat movie “Double Jeopardy” (3.9 11.9 million viewers overall). The Ashley Judd pic shot up to a slot-leading 4.9/12 in adults 18-49 and 14.3 million viewers from 10 to 11 (after the football game ended).

NBC was led by an original seg of “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” at 9 (4.0/9 in adults 18-49, 12.1 million viewers), while ABC’s best score of the evening came in the same hour with a firstrun “Alias” (3.2/7 in adults 18-49, 7.6 million viewers).

Preliminary 18-49 averages for the night: Fox, 14.4/33; CBS, 3.5/8; NBC, 3.1/7; ABC, 2.5/6; WB, 1.4/3.

In total viewers: Fox, 35.5 million; CBS, 12.3 million; NBC, 9.4 million; ABC, 7.2 million; WB, 3.1 million.
