MTV ‘Rouge’ makes up cast

Skein to preem in October

SINGAPORE — MTV has unveiled its first Asian TV drama series, “Rouge,” about five babes who are rock musicians by day and spies by night, after five months of auditions.

Show will premiere in October on MTV’s Southeast Asia channel.

Cast includes Singapore’s Pierre Png and Desiree Ann Siahaan, Malaysia’s Deanna Yusof, the Philippines’ Denise Laurel and Mariel Rodriguez, Pamela Fields from the U.S. and Vietnam’s Veronica Ngo.

The $1.5 million series is the first collaboration among MTV, Singapore-based production company Mega Media and the Media Development Authority of Singapore.

Mega Media’s Jonathan Foo (“Song of the Stork”) and Chee Kong Cheah (“Chicken Rice War”) are exec producer-directors. Writer-helmer Esan Sivalingam (“City Sharks”) heads the scriptwriting team.
