HOLLYWOOD — AsianMedia Group has named Peter Mathes as chairman of the board.
Mathes will be responsible for overall operations at the company, which is the leading broadcaster of Asian-language TV in the U.S. His focus will be on growing the business internally and through acquisitions.
Mathes most recently was exec VP of the Chris-Craft/United Television Group before its sale to News Corp. He was responsible for the group’s 10 major-market stations, including New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
“Peter has demonstrated an outstanding ability to grow the results of independent television stations,” said Peter Nolan, member of AsianMedia’s board of directors and partner in the company’s majority owner, Leonard Green & Partners.
