‘Idol’ dominates Tuesday too

Morning Ratings Flash - Rick Kissell

Night two of Fox’s premiere week of “American Idol” dominated Tuesday’s leadoff hour in all ratings categories, according to preliminary nationals from Nielsen, drawing an 11.9 rating/31 share in adults 18-49 and 27.2 million viewers overall.

These early results are subject to revision, however, as President Bush’s State of the Union Address, which aired live across the country beginning at 9 p.m. ET, wreaked havoc with the lineups of every broadcaster for the night.

Reliable preliminary information was not available for the State of the Union. Ratings for the address will be sustained by Nielsen and will not factor into nightly or seasonal averages.
