Fox News archive rights go to ITN

World Brief

British news provider ITN has acquired the rights to manage and market the Fox News archive to boost its international rights business.

Deal is understood to create the largest news archive in the U.S. It provides ITN with some 31,500 hours of Fox News footage. ITN’s archive features some 680,000 hours of footage going back to 1896.

ITN, owned 60% by terrestrial net ITV, is attempting to broaden its business after losing the contract to supply U.K. terrestrial web Five to highly regarded rival Sky News earlier this year.
