E! names sr veep of net, prod’n ops

Bolter hired for network's newly created position

E! net has named Howard Bolter the senior VP, net and production operations, E! Networks. In the newly created position Bolter will be responsible for overseeing all net and physical production operations for E! Entertainment Television and Style Network.

Bolter’s resume includes senior VP, production, operations and engineering for USA Broadcasting, production executive on the pilot for “Seinfeld” and supervising producer of “Fox’s Totally Hidden Video.” Additional credits include shows for ABC, NBC, CBS, Comedy Central, the Outdoor Life Network and Lifetime. Most recently, Bolter served as top consultant to a number of new startup cablers, including Moviewatch and Brand Shopping Channel.

“Steve’s extensive experience in the industry and proven track record will be a wonderful addition to our production operations team at E!,” said Mark Sonnenberg, executive VP, entertainment, E! networks.

Reporting to Bolter is recently appointed VP production management at E! Networks, Steven Blue. Blue will oversee both the production management for all shows produced by E! and the Style Network, as well as managing all inhouse production services including the operation and staffing of E! Networks’ studio, field production services and editing.

Before joining E!, Blue had an eight-year tenure at KCBS-TV in Los Angeles, where he served as director of broadcast operations and engineering for the past five years.
