E! Networks is expanding into Africa through a deal inked with South Africa-based satelliter MultiChoice.
Deal was unveiled Wednesday by Brad Wald, regional director for Europe, the Mideast and Africa at E! Networks, and Linda Vermaas, general manager of content for MultiChoice.
The English-lingo celeb-soaked nicher launches this month on MultiChoice’s DStv bouquet, the company’s basic digital package, and will reach viewers in the south of the continent from Namibia to Zimbabwe. MultiChoice claims more than 1 million digital subs in 49 African countries and adjacent Indian Ocean islands through its DStv bouquet.
E! will also launch in Greece and Cyprus this month on MultiChoice Hellas on its Nova platform. That channel will be subtitled in Greek.
The E! Intl. Network can be seen in 50 countries.
