Banff TV fest to focus on co-prods

Montgomery took over post after fest's near- bankruptcy

TORONTO — The future of the TV biz and international collaboration and co-production will be the key themes of the 2005 Banff TV Festival, skedded for June 12-15.

Topics were chosen “as a result of comprehensive input from industry players around the world,” said CEO Robert Montgomery, who took over the post after the festival had a near-brush with bankruptcy last spring.

Sessions will include examination of co-production treaties and case studies and master classes on recently inked co-production deals.

The deadline for Banff Rockie Award submissions for the fest is Feb. 24, and its web address is www.banff2005.com.
