AXN nabs basic carriage in Portugal

Deal put together by PT's Bava and Sony's Childs

HOLLYWOOD — Sony’s action channel AXN has inked a carriage deal on Portugal’s 10-year-old pay TV platform TV Cabo as part of the service’s basic tier.

Deal was put together by Zeinal Bava, exec president of Cabo parent company PT Multimedia, and Darren Childs, senior VP for Sony’s international networks.

AXN will broadcast in English with Portuguese subtitles and will air shows like “CSI,” “The Shield” and “Alias” as well as action/adventure-oriented movies like “The Mask of Zorro” and “Godzilla.”
