Morning Ratings Flash - Rick Kissell

NBC unscripted skein “The Apprentice” performed very well in its new Thursday time period, recording the night’s top scores in key demographics, according to preliminary nationals from Nielsen. On a night with mostly repeats for both nets, NBC rolled in demos and CBS scored a narrow victory in total viewers.

From 9 to 10, “The Apprentice” (9.3/23 in adults 18-49, 18.8 million viewers overall) won in all key adult demos over a repeat of CBS drama “CSI” (6.3/16 in adults 18-49, 20.0 million viewers). NBC also did well with repeats of “Friends” (8.6/24 in 18-49, 21.1 million), “Will & Grace” (7.7/21 in 18-49, 17.3 million) and “ER” (6.1/16 in 18-49, 13.3 million).

CBS was led by “CSI” and an original seg of “Without a Trace” (5.9/16 in adults 18-49, 17.4 million viewers), which failed to beat a repeat of “ER” for the first time but remained on top in total viewers.

ABC was led by “Primetime” at 10 (2.9/8 in adults 18-49, 8.4 million), Fox by a repeat of “My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance” (2.0/5 in adults 18-49, 4.8 million viewers).

Preliminary 18-49 averages for the night: NBC, 7.8/21; CBS, 5.6/15; ABC, 2.4/6; UPN, 2.1/5; Fox, 1.8/5; WB, 1.1/3.

In total viewers: CBS, 17.8 million; NBC, 17.1 million; ABC, 7.2 million; UPN, 5.4 million; Fox, 4.4 million; WB, 2.8 million.
