Marc Conrad, who is replacing Gerhard Zeiler as managing director of RTL Television in November, will turn over control of his production company Typhoon Networks to company execs Friedrich Wildfeuer and Otto Kiefer when he moves to the new job.
Kiefer, who is based in Cologne and will oversee the firm’s comedy division, will hold Conrad’s 75% stake in the company in trust. Wildfeuer, who owns 25% of the firm, becomes CEO and will be based in Munich.
Conrad was RTL program director under former topper Helmut Thoma during the 1990s. Both left in 1998; Conrad set up Typhoon a year later.
Typhoon produces RTL cop show “Abschnitt 40” plus TV and feature films, including Oliver Hirschbiegel’s 2001 pic “The Experiment.”
