Linklater's troupe come out for preem
HOLLYWOOD It was old home week at the Los Angeles Film Fest centerpiece premiere of Richard Linklater‘s “Before Sunset,” which reunites Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy, the starry-eyed couple of 1995’s “Before Sunrise.” Linklater cronies Jack Black (“School of Rock”) and Winona Ryder (the upcoming “A Scanner Darkly”) were among those making the June 23 scene at the ArcLight, which was followed by a Sunset Room after-bash.
“It’s an antidote to what’s out there this summer,” said pic’s producer, Castle Rock’s Martin Shafer.
“Like eavesdropping on an intimate conversation,” offered Warner Independent’s Mark Gill, who said he thinks the fest hit critical mass this year with “Fahrenheit 9/11,” “Sunrise” and other influential pics.
As to whether the couple will ever reunite again — maybe in another 10 years? — Linklater said he wouldn’t rule out the idea.
