Irish eyes watch two-man legiter bow at Taper Forum

HOLLYWOOD — Must have been the luck o’ the Irish that landed Barry McEvoy’s“Stones in His Pockets” at the Mark Taper Forum.

“How many chances do you get to play a woman — and a movie star at that?” asked McEvoy, whose Irish eyes were smilin’ at the Thursday’s opening-night party at the Music Center’s Impresario.

McEvoy and JD Cullum each play multiple characters on an Irish movie set in the two-hander. And they do it without changing costumes.

“The fun of ‘Stones’ is watching the actors ply their trade,” Cullum said with no trace of blarney in his voice.

On hand for corned beef and cabbage after the show were director Neel Keller and Barbara Bain.
