PRAGUE — When Prague casting director Nancy Bishop decided to make her own movie, she called in her chips.
“Rex-patriates,” a mocumentary about the Prague ex-pat community, pulled in local star of the moment Karel Roden (“Hellboy’s” Rasputin), along with producers Patrick Palmer and Michelle Weller, and a bevy of Americans who flesh out bit parts in the stream of Hollywood movies shooting here. Most of them turned up for the film’s April 6 premiere at arthouse Aero Cinema, which serves mugs full of beer but no popcorn.
Film has lined up its first fest date in Rome, but Bishop’s not quitting her day job just yet. She’s working on Roman Polanski‘s “Oliver Twist,” shooting in Prague this summer.
