HOLLYWOOD — “Mean Creek” got exceedingly nice treatment Monday from Paramount Classics, which unveiled the Sundance pic at ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood.
“My suit that I’m wearing tonight cost more than the whole art budget,” first-time scribe-helmer Jacob Aaron Estes quipped before the screening.
Later, following a gushy intro by Par Classics co-prexys Ruth Vitale and David Dinerstein, Estes told the audience, “I hope you enjoy it after all this buildup,” and joked, “It’s really not very good.”
Bow was attended by thesps Rory Culkin, Ryan Kelley, Scott Mechlowicz, Trevor Morgan, Josh Peck and Carly Schroeder. Despite pic’s mostly teen cast, after-party was held at the 21-and-over Forbidden City.
