‘Bombay’ scribe mates anew

Married duo looks on to 'Carnival' endeavor

NEW YORK — “Bombay Dreams” book writer Thomas Meehan attended Thursday night’s opening party at Spirit with his newest collaborator, Carolyn Meehan. His wife, who runs the legendary Peanut Butter & Jane store in the Village, will be co-writing the new book for “Carnival” with the prolific Meehan, who had a hand in “Annie,” “The Producers” and “Hairspray.”

“I’ve had 15 years of learning through osmosis,” said Mrs. Meehan.

The duo revealed that the “Carnival” revival will be set in the round in a Gotham tent under the direction of Tommy Tune, promising “it’ll be a real event.”
