Richard Biggs, who played Dr. Stephen Franklin on the TV sci-fi series “Babylon 5,” died of what was believed to be a stroke after collapsing in his Los Angeles home on May 22. He was 44.
Biggs, a graduate of the USC theater program, also appeared as Dr. Marcus Hunter in NBC’s “Days of Our Lives,” for which he won a Soap Opera Digest Award. He also had a recurring role on CBS’ “Guiding Light” and appeared in three “Babylon 5″ telefilms. TV guest appearances included “Crossing Jordan,” “ER” and “NYPD Blue,” as well as a number of other television shows and movies. He also taught acting classes in Los Angeles. Biggs is survived by his wife, Lori Gerber, and two children, Richard and Hunter..
