Johnny Mann


Thesp Johnny Mann, known for his shocking white hair and dark complexion, died May 3 of cancer in Cathedral City, Calif. He was 73.

Born in Salinas, Mann appeared in dozens of soap operas and TV dramas, including “Hawaii Five-0” and managed several restaurants in Hawaii.

He landed character roles in various TV shows, including “Remington Steele” “The A-Team” and had a recurring role on “Highway to Heaven.” He also appeared in various soaps, including “Days of Our Lives,” “General Hospital” and “The Young and the Restless.”

His film credits include “Legal Eagles” and “Blind Date.”

In his later years, Mann worked as a maitre d’ at several country clubs in the Palm Springs area.

He is survived by his wife Shirley, two sons and two stepdaughters.
