Swedish commercial broadcaster TV4 has greenlit yet another drama/thriller series, “Medicine Man,” which will shoot this fall. Move follows the station’s go-ahead for a $25 million package of 13 films about a police detective named Wallander.
Mikael Persbrandt stars as Martin Holst, the CEO of Holst Medicals, which is launching a new anti-depressant. However, the project has enemies ready to do anything to stop it, even resorting to kidnapping.
Kjell Sundvall and Lind Lagerlof will direct the eight episodes of “Medicine Man”; Danish writer Jens Dahl penned the script; Jarowskij TV produces.
