Sundance Channel ups publicity veepee Eaton

Exec spearheaded campaigns for DocDay, Sundance Film Series

Sundance Channel has pinned senior VP stripes on publicity exec Sarah Eaton.

Eaton will continue to oversee corporate and consumer publicity initiatives for the Sundance Channel and its home entertainment arm.

Campaigns she has spearheaded include net’s weekly DocDay series and the Sundance Film Series, which premiered four pics in 10 cities last year.

“Sundance Channel and I have benefited enormously from Sarah’s credibility, her appreciation for independent film, her extensive Rolodex and — in a world where hype and perception often obscure reality — her street smarts and brutal honesty,” said Larry Aidem, prexy and CEO of the Sundance Channel.

Eaton also works in conjunction with other Sundance divisions, including the Sundance Institute and the annual film festival. Most recently, she oversaw publicity for the fest’s awards ceremony.

Eaton joined the channel in 1999. Before that, she held exec titles in the publicity departments of October Films and Fine Line.
