Showtime nabs rights to ‘Tribute’

Doc to air in April as part of net's 'Sho Exposure'

NEW YORK — Showtime has picked up world premiere rights to “Tribute,” Kristine Curry and Richard Fox’s docu about the subculture of tribute bands and their fans.

Steven Soderbergh exec produced the project.

Doc will air on the network in April as part of Showtime’s “Sho Exposure,” a programming initiative started in October under which a documentary unspools on the cabler each month. Tribute bands devoted to Kiss, Judas Priest, the Monkees and Queen are among those explored in the film.
