Oscar-nommed actress Shohreh Aghdashloo (“House of Sand and Fog”) has joined the cast of the ABC drama pilot “The Secret Service,” while Jeff Goldblum will star in the NBC laffer project “My 11:30” and Teri Hatcher has been named one of the Alphabet web’s “Desperate Housewives.”
Also, Robert Sean Leonard (“Chelsea Walls”) signed on to star in Fox’s untitled Attanasio/Shore medical thriller; Jay Harrington has been added to the cast of CBS laffer “The Amazing Westerbergs”; Jennifer Aspen (“Party of Five”) will join the ABC sitcom “That’s My Rodney”; and Sarah Silverman, Amy Yasbeck and Nat Faxon have been added as voices on Phil Hendrie’s animated show at Fox.
Aghdashloo, whose credits include “Twenty Bucks” and “Surviving Paradise,” will play the female boss, an agent in charge of the Washington division in “Secret Service.” Touchstone drama comes from Francie Calfo, Alex Kurtzman-Counter and Roberto Orci.
Meanwhile, NBC has removed the cast contingency and will move forward on “My 11:30,” now that Goldblum has joined the sitcom.
UTA/Industry-repped Goldblum will play a New York businessman-slash-self-proclaimed playboy; “My 11:30” revolves around his relationship with his therapist. Steven Sater, Paul Reiser and Keith Addis exec produce the project for NBC Studios and Nuance.
Goldblum, known best for his roles in blockbusters such as “Independence Day” and “Jurassic Park,” most recently starred in the feature “Igby Goes Down.” He’ll appear in next month’s Showtime film “Spinning Boris.”
Then there’s Hatcher, who returns to ABC — where she first gained fame in “Lois & Clark” — as Susan, a lonely divorced woman who’s one of the four main female characters in “Desperate Housewives.”
Writers & Artists-repped Hatcher most recently appeared in features such as “Spy Kids” and “Tomorrow Never Dies.” Touchstone drama comes from Marc Cherry, Michael Edelstein and Charles Platt.
In “The Amazing Westerbergs,” Harrington has joined the cast opposite star Chris O’Donnell. Show is about two brothers who grew up thinking they were special but must now face the reality that they’re just ordinary. Sony Pictures TV/CBS Prods. laffer comes from David Ronn and Jay Sherick.
Harrington, who’s repped by ICM, recently was a cast member in the short-lived NBC version of “Coupling.” Credits also include “The Shield” and “Without a Trace.”
As for Leonard, he’ll play one of a group of oncologists in the Fox pilot from Paul Attanasio and David Shore.
Universal Network TV is behind the medical mystery drama. WMA-repped Leonard’s credits also include “Driven” and “The Last Days of Disco.”
Aspen will play star Rodney Carrington’s wife in “That’s My Rodney.” Innovative-repped thesp’s most recent credits include “Karen Sisco” and “The Agency.” Touchstone laffer comes from David Himelfarb and Ric Swartlander.
Finally, Yasbeck, Silverman and Faxon will all join radio host Hendrie voicing characters for his ani pilot presentation from 20th Century Fox TV, which takes place in the world of an eccentric gated community.
