Parker, Dalling to report to Tardio

Independent film and TV publicity company Denmead Marketing has effectively been acquired by Rogers & Cowan.

Denmead’s staff, including publicists Dennis Dembia and Schalah Mitchell, and its client roster, have been absorbed into the Rogers & Cowan fold. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Denmead owner Nikki Parker has become exec VP of Rogers & Cowan, teaming with Michael Dalling, exec VP of worldwide film publicity and marketing.

Dalling and Parker report directly to Rogers & Cowan CEO Tom Tardio.

Denmead clients include Graham King’s Initial Entertainment Group, Senator Intl., Lions Gate Films Intl., Japan’s Shochiku and Germany’s EM.TV. Current film projects include “The Aviator,” “The Grudge,” “The Assassination of Richard Nixon” and “The Ballad of Jack and Rose.”

“After 13 years, it is time to relinquish the responsibilities of running a small independent publicity company,” said Parker.

Said Tardio: “The reputation (Parker) has developed and the quality of resources she has built will accelerate our expansion into the independent film and television marketplace.”

Rogers & Cowan has also promoted three publicity execs to associate vice president in the agency’s music division.

Jason Padgitt, Karen Sundell and Eileen Thompson have been upped from director and will remain responsible for media relations and marketing campaigns for music artists, composers, producers, record labels, music manufacturers and retailers, industry associations and award shows.

Exec VPs Maureen O’Connor and Sandy Friedman head the department.

Padgitt’s clients have included Randy Travis, Third Eye Blind, Jerry Lee Lewis, Gibson Guitar, Baldwin Piano, the Grammy Awards and the Guitar Center.

Sundell has managed a roster of artists (Deborah Cox, Marty Stuart, Pat Boone, Slash) and special events for music-related projects.

Thompson has more than 14 years of public relations experience representing a variety of clients from the music, sports and corporate worlds. Her diverse roster of clients has included Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees, Cafe Tacuba, Gustavo Santaolalla, Alan Silvestri, Randy Edelman, the MusiCares Dinner and the Latin Grammys.
