NEW YORK — Nickelodeon has upped senior VP Marjorie Cohn to exec VP of development and original programming.
In her newly created role, Cohn will head up all of Nick’s program development and production in New York, Los Angeles and Canada.
She will continue to oversee the creative teams on both coasts, coordinating efforts among production, on-air, marketing and consumer products divisions.
Cohn’s team is also responsible for Nick’s special events, such as the Kids Choice Awards. She will continue to report to channel prexy Cyma Zarghami.
A 17-year vet of Nick, Cohn began her career at the channel as a unit manager, rising to senior VP of production and development in 2002, when development was added to her list of duties.
As senior VP, she directed production of all animation and live-action skeins for Nick, including signature shows “SpongeBob SquarePants,” “The Fairly OddParents” and “Nick News With Linda Ellerbee.”
Cohn also oversaw production of hits “Rugrats,” “The Wild Thornberrys” and “Hey Arnold!” as VP and exec producer of current series.
