Landau to find himself in ‘Trace’ guest stint

Sinise investigates 'CSI: New York' gig

Oscar-winning thesp Martin Landau is visiting a place he hasn’t been in a very long time: episodic television.

Landau has inked a deal to appear in at least three episodes of CBS’ Thursday night drama “Without a Trace.” He’ll play Anthony LaPaglia’s father, a man who suffers from Alzheimer’s.

Thesp continues to keep busy, having recently appeared in the features “Hollywood Homicide” and “The Majestic.” He’ll next appear in “The Aryan Couple.”

Meanwhile, on the pilot casting front, CBS remains in early discussions with Gary Sinise about starring in its upcoming “CSI: New York.”

Also, Madchen Amick (“Twin Peaks”) has been cast as the romantic lead opposite John Stamos in that thesp’s untitled ABC comedy. And Peter Facinelli, most recently living life in the “Fast Lane,” has been cast in Fox’s untitled undercover high school drama.

Amick, who recently guest starred on “Ed,” will play Kylie in the Stamos laffer. Show, from 20th Century Fox TV and Brad Grey TV, revolves around a blind date that unfolds throughout the entire TV season.

Facinelli, meanwhile, will play a government agent who oversees the young female cop dispatched inside a high school. Drama comes from 20th Century Fox TV and Imagine TV.

In other castings announced Friday:

  • Matthew Josten (“JAG”) has been cast as Bo, while Oliver Davis (“ER”) will play Jack, in ABC’s untitled sitcom starring comedian Rodney Carrington. Touchstone-produced laffer is based on Carrington’s standup routine.

  • Kate Levering (“Martin & Lewis”) has joined the cast of UPN’s “Kevin Hill” as Veronica. Touchstone/Icon drama stars Taye Diggs as an attorney who suddenly finds himself raising his niece.

  • Maggie Grace (“12 Mile Road”) has been added to the cast of ABC’s “Lost.” Touchstone drama follows plane crash survivors marooned on a desert island.

  • Michael Reilly Burke (“Cold Case”) has been added to the ensemble cast of ABC’s “Desperate Housewives.” Actor, whose credits also include recent feature “Stuck on You,” will play Rex Van DeKamp.

Meanwhile, the WB has confirmed that its Warner Bros. drama pilot “Rocky Point” has been rolled to midseason consideration.

Pilot production has been pushed to summer so that John Stockwell (who exec produces with Lizzy Weiss) can also direct the project.
