Kudos to be presented at Boston University

BOSTON — Ted Koppel will receive the first Hugo Shong Lifetime Journalism Achievement Award at Boston University on Nov. 19.

Shong will present Koppel, a 40-year veteran at ABC News and anchor of “Nightline,” with the award at a dinner at Boston U. Koppel will meet with students earlier in the day.

“(It) is important that in this, its inaugural year, (the Shong Award) be given to an individual whose career in journalism not only represents the finest and best in what we all aspire to achieve, but to a person whose professional integrity stands as a shining example,” said John J. Schulz, dean of Boston U.’s College of Communication.
