Producers hop on Showtime cop skein

“American Beauty” producers Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen have come aboard as exec producers on the Showtime series pilot “Hate.”

Duo replaces David Janollari, who has exited the project to focus on his new role as entertainment prexy of the WB network.

Paris Barclay (“NYPD Blue”) and James DeMonaco (“The Negotiator”) also exec produce. Barclay and DeMonaco wrote the script, with Barclay set to direct.

Skein revolves around NYPD’s hate crimes unit and its female inspector, the highest-ranking woman in the NYPD.

Most recently, The Jinks/Cohen Co. produced Tim Burton’s “Big Fish” and is onboard to produce the Annette Bening-led feature “Under My Skin.”

DreamWorks-based shingle is in pre-production on Julianne Moore starrer “The Forgotten” and is next set to work on “The Rivals.”
