McCormick to shoot comicbook adaptation 'Global'

Helmer Nelson McCormick (“Alias,” “ER”) has landed his first pilot gig, signing on to direct the WB’s Mark Burnett drama “Global Frequency.”

Pilot will shoot in Vancouver in August. Frog had previously greenlit the drama, which comes from Burnett and Warner Bros. TV. Based on the comicbook by Warren Ellis, “Global Frequency” revolves around a covert intelligence organization, led by the mysterious Miranda Zero, called on to fight evil around the world.

Nelson is next attached to direct the 20th Century Fox feature “End of the Road,” from Mark Gordon. Other credits include directing segs of “CSI,” “Third Watch,” “Nip/Tuck” and “Cold Case.”

Burnett and John Rogers exec produce “Global Frequency.”
