Council hopes to raise $2 mil to preserve Earth's natural resources

Tom Hanks will serve as ringmaster and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will give the keynote speech at the NRDC’s biennial fund-raiser Earth to L.A.! — The Greatest Show on the Earth on May 6 at the Wadsworth Theater.

Live show will include standup comedy, musical performances and commentary from Jack Black, Sheryl Crow, Larry David, Leonardo DiCaprio, Will Ferrell, Ali G, Diane Keaton, Willie Nelson and Meg Ryan.

The Natural Resources Defense Council hopes to raise $2 million from the event to safeguard Earth’s natural resources. Larry David is a chair of the fund-raiser with his wife, the evening’s co-producer, Laurie David. Other event chairs are Cindy Horn, Jim Wiatt and NRDC trustees Alan Horn, Peter Morton and Elizabeth Wiatt, who is co-producing the evening.

Joel Gallen is overseeing production, and Michael Riva is creating the sets.

“Earth to L.A.!” will raise awareness about a number of environmental problems, especially global warming.
