NBC skein hit season high with 17.8 mil viewers overall

Fear and loathsome behavior attracted auds to hot reality programs on Monday as a different unscripted skein captured each of the evening’s hours in young-adult demos.

According to Nielsen, NBC’s “Fear Factor” hit a season high in the night’s opening hour (7.6 rating/19 share, 17.8 million viewers overall), doubling its closest competitor and ranking as Monday’s highest-rated show.

From 9 to 10, Fox’s limited-run series “My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance” delivered hearty week-two ratings (6.3/14 in adults 18-49, 13.44m), winning its hour in all under-55 categories.

Although down about 30% from its week-earlier post-“American Idol” preem in 18-49 (9.1/20), “Obnoxious Fiance” posted a demo score that’s well above the week-two deliveries for Fox’s other most recent Monday reality efforts: a 2.5/7 for last fall’s “The Next Joe Millionaire,” a 3.8/9 for last April’s “Mr. Personality” and a 3.5/8 for March’s “Married by America.”

“Fiance” built sharply on its lead-in from a “lost” episode of “The Simple Life” (3.7/9 in 18-49, 7.50m) that Fox had apparently misplaced when it aired the series finale two weeks ago.

Closing out the night, NBC’s “Average Joe: Hawaii” (5.4/13 in 18-49, 11.05m) led in key demos over a repeat of CBS drama “CSI: Miami” (4.2/10 in 18-49, 14.27m).
