Wardrobe, home, other aspects to be explored
Call it “My Big Fat Obnoxious Family Makeover.”
Rocket Science Laboratories, the reality shingle behind Fox’s new hit “My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance,” is developing a new skein for the net in which entire families get an extreme makeover. Casting has already begin on the project, being hyped on Web site Familytimecasting.com.
All aspects of a family’s life will be transformed, from their wardrobe to their home to other issues and problems facing selected clans.
“It’s an inside-outside makeover,” said exec producer Ray Giuliani. “It’s a natural genesis for where the makeover show will go. It integrates the physical and the emotional.”
Episodes will be self-contained, with each hour featuring one family getting the makeover treatment. In addition to the Web site, Rocket Science is planning casting calls in Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York, Dallas, Boston and Chicago.
“We’re looking for people who have an aspiration of being in a different place than they are now,” Giuliani said.
Fox isn’t commenting on the project, but industry insiders said the net is looking to produce multiple episodes of the show. ICM-repped Rocket Science, led by Chris Cowan and Jean-Michel Michenaud, has an overall deal with the net.
