Cabler also to debut 'Alternative,' 'Classic,' 'Concert' in July

VH1 has recruited an eclectic group of one-time TV and music celebs for the third season of “The Surreal Life.”

Onboard are Charo, Dave Coulier (“Full House”), Public Enemy’s Flava Flav, New Kids on the Block alum Jordan Knight, Brigitte Nielsen (“Red Sonja”) and “American Idol” also-ran Ryan Starr.

Reality show, from Mindless Entertainment, left its WB home for the music cabler earlier this year (Daily Variety, April 7).

Previous editions of “Surreal Life” featured MC Hammer, Corey Feldman, Ron Jeremy, Tammy Faye Baker and Vanilla Ice.

Mark Cronin, Jill Modabber and Jeff Olde are exec producers. Series bows Sept. 6.

Elsewhere at VH1, digital net VH1 Classic has announced three original series set to debut July 5: “The Alternative,” a showcase of unconventional bands from the ’60s-’80s; “Classic/Current,” which pairs artists’ vintage vids with their new ones; and the performance hour “VH1 Classic in Concert.”
