WGN adds on Calif. homes

Web carries more than 100 baseball games each year

NEW YORK — Chicago-based superstation WGN has landed a deal with Comcast Cable that will add 1.2 million households in the San Francisco Bay Area, swelling WGN’s overall subscriber count to 65 million homes.

Comcast cable systems in California in San Jose, Oakland and parts of Marin County north of San Francisco have already begun carrying WGN.

In addition to a lineup of movies and TV series, WGN carries more than 100 baseball games every year featuring the Cubs and White Sox. The net also carries some Chicago Bulls’ pro basketball games, the annual Harvard-Yale football game and some NCAA college basketball games.
